On a quest for gold, Indiana Jones may strike silver, too.
The whip-cracking, big-budget Hollywood flick “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” landed No. 1 at the box office during its opening weekend.
It’s also on track to become the second-largest-grossing Memorial Day weekend movie ever.
The new release pulled in an estimated $101 million from Friday to Sunday.
Movie execs expect the film to take in an additional $25 million today, putting the fourth installment of the Harrison Ford series in second place for box-office-busting Memorial Day weekend debuts.
“Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” holds the first-place honor, earning a Friday-through-Monday total of $139.8 million when it opened during Memorial Day weekend last year.
